Our steadily rising star from the East is shedding her light a little brighter still on that scenery called Contemporary Music. In less poetic terms: Soap&Skin have been announced this week as the winner of an EBBA-award, EBBA being short for 'European Border Breakers Award'. The aim of the prize is to stimulate the cross border circulation of European music and highlight Europe's magnificent cultural diversity. Anja will receive her award and play at the EBBA event taking place in Groningen (Holland) on January 14th to come. Other artists that will receive this token of recognition include Charlie Winston and Buraka Som Systema. For the first time, the public can vote for their own favourite Border Breaker. Unless you only dig slapbass solo albums or Country-Gothic cross-over EP's from the second half of January 1993, I'd say: see the site and vote Anja for President.
